A safe place to stay. A hand to help.
In planningAffordable, clean and welcoming accommodation in London for people who need it most.
HelpingHand can only pay for a bed if a bed exists. Across London there are not enough of them, and what there is costs more than the people who need it can find.
Helping Hand Hostels converts old offices and industrial units into low-cost hostel accommodation: dormitory and private rooms, communal kitchens, laundry, private showers, secure lockers and staff who can point somebody at the help they need.
The two projects are one strategy rather than two ideas. HelpingHand moves money to where somebody can sleep tonight; Helping Hand Hostels builds the supply of cheap beds that makes it possible at scale.
